 Sarah 成立在英国的布里斯托,她有着让人费解的坚持 — 坚持只推出一百张唱片、坚持推出黑胶唱片、喜欢以布里斯托街景为专辑封面、坚持只创作清新积及的音乐；1995年的八月，这个存在不足十年的厂牌宣告结业，短短的八年，Sarah 带动起 Indie Pop 的发展；八月，该是纪念Sarah的八月。
1987年在Bristol,Clare Wadd和Matt Haynes成立了Sarah，当时它还只是Clifton吊桥沿途的一个小地下室。关于Sarah公司在音乐本身之外的运作理念，说起来令人费解，当然它也许是某些社会学批评家感兴趣的话题，Sarah认为它的唱片发行到一百张之时，希望会有一场全球性的社会主义革命，而实际上，当Sarah 100真的出现时，除了资本主义全球一体化愈加变本加厉之外，地球依旧在我们心灵之外悲伤旋转，这个世界上什么激动人心的事情也没发生。
Sarah是个跛着腿奋力向左倾斜的堂吉科德，这往往是人们津津乐道的热点，而它音乐本身的美学姿态才是真正的妙不可言。Sarah在音乐上的成就非常简单明了，即是它从87年到95年发行的100张低成本高水准的独立流行乐唱片，包括专辑，单曲，EP和合辑。它很好的给别的唱片公司上了一课：即使不烧钱也能做出不是垃圾的流行乐。而且Sarah在唱片平面设计上更有独到美感，宁静唯美之势直逼另类圣殿4.A.D的专业美工小组。
1995年8月，Sarah公司发行了它第一百张也是最后一张专辑Sarah 100后宣布关闭。Sarah 100不能算是Sarah系列唱片中最出色的一张，但它集合了几乎所有Sarah旗下的知名乐队，既是Sarah音乐品味的精粹，亦可见证90'独立音乐之唯美传奇。
St. Christopher的 "All of a Tremble," The Sugargliders，the Field Mice的"Sensitive"，the Sea Urchins的"Pristine Christine"都是典型的indie pop曲式。the Field Mice这类80年代的indie乐还有明显的new wave倾向，这在鼓击节奏中尤其清晰，"Sensitive"有点机械阴郁的节奏容易让人联想到Echo&Bunnymen的作品。
Heavenly桀骜不逊的Atta Girl和BOYRACER生猛的he gets me so hard，还有ACTION PAINTING的mustard gas表现了Sarah内部的多元取向，在节奏旋律上都倾向于较柔和的流行朋克。SECRET SHINE的temporal则融合了白色噪音，用密集的鼓点加上块状漫布的吉他噪音。Tembling Blue Star前身NORTHERN PICTURE LIBRARY女主音柔和模糊的唱腔多少有点Dream pop意味。East River Pipe的 "Make A Deal with the City,"显示了Indie pop后来的一个取向，即电子合成器的加入，效果甚至盖过了吉他。
